Fractions/Decimals
Which is more important: fractions or decimals?
How would you convince some that you are correct?
Remember to use professional language and your response should be at least 5 sentences.
I think fractions are more important because than it would be easier to cook. It would be easier to cook because than you could say 1 forth of a cup. You wont have to say 1 point four of a cup. i also Think It would be easier to say. We also would know like how much of a pie we need to cut for parties and Thanksgiving.
I think decimals are more important than fractions for many reasons. First of all, decimals can tell exactly how fast something is with less writing than you have to do with fractions. For a decimal: a car can go 150.15 miles per hour. For a fraction: a car can go 150 and 15/100ths of a mile per hour. This is why I think decimals are more important than fractions.
I think decimals are more important than fractions for many reasons. Like when you are driving it says you are going 60.06 miles per hour but if it was in fractions it would be 60 6/100 and it is harder to read and understand something. Also decimals can to wholes and like hundreths and thousandths but they still stay together. This is why I think decimals are more important than fractions.
I think that both are just as important but I use fractions more. If you are walking or running to a certain place, you could say that you were 3/4 of the way there. You could also say that you were 0.75% of the way there and it would mean the same thing. You could convert decimals into fractions. You can also convert fractions into decimals, too. They mean the same thing but just look different.
I think that decimals and fractions have the same amount of importance because you can convert fractions to decimals and decimals to fractions. For example if you are going somewhere and you are 1/2 way there you are also 0.5 away from your destination. So 1/2 is equivalent to 0.5.
I think decimals are more importntant. Decimals are more important because if there is adeicimal like 2.5 it looks better than 2 5/10.Also if a decimal is 5.1029384756 how can you make that in to a fraction.
I think decimals are more important than fractions because you use fractions alot in real life such as money. Money is something you use everyday and in money it wouldn't make sense if you said $50/00 instead of the better way,$50.00!
I think that decimals are more important than fractions, because you use decimals with money, dividing sometimes, and presentages too.Decimals are also like 8.421, or 9.2435.That's why I think that decimals are more important than fractions.
I think decimals are more important than fractions because you use decimals more often. You use them for money and percentages. Digital scales also use decimals. I think fractions aren't as important as decimals because fractions are harder to read. Fractions are still important for cooking though.
I think that decimals and fractions are both just as important as the other. Decimals are important because you can find out what the percent of the number is a little bit faster than you can with fractions. With fractions though they are a little bit simpler to work with and you can figure other things out quicker than you can with decimals. This is why I think that decimals and fractions are equally important.
I think fractions are more useful then decimals. One reason is because decimals are trickier to certain people that don't understand them. Fractions and better because they are easier to say. They are a faster way to say a decimal. They may sound the same but don't look the same and kids may think,"Oh well, it says on the recipe you need three dollars and forty cents becuase it says on the box three period four zero." So my answer would be fractions are easier to say, read and understand!
I think they are both important. Without decimals we cant have cents. Without fraction we couldn't really say like "i have a fraciton of that pizza." So I think they are both important. But thats just my opion. That is what I think on that topic.
I think they are both important because fractions are easier to understand (for me) and decimals can be used in so many ways. For example with decimals we have money and with fractions we hav a fraction of something.
I think they are equally important because to me it makes more sense to say I have 2 and 1/2 apples than I have 2.5 apples. But decimals are also important. Like what Alek and Alex said decimals measure how fast a car goes. Fractions wouldn't be as fun if you had to measure the speed of a car or something else like that. That's why I think fractions and decimals are the same importance.
I think that decimals and fractions are the same because they both can measure more than one part of the data. Also the can measure every kind of data. But either one could be easier to say than the other. They both can have whole numbers, and the alays have parts of a whole. That is why I think that decimals and fractions are the samein all kinds of ways.
I think fractions wouldnbe more inporment because it would be are to cook. Also it would be hard to divided things into pieces. And it can measure thing in places. That is why I think fractions are more imporment than decimals.
I think they are both very important but if I had to choose between those I would pick fractions because it would be easy to cook. Also if you used decimals for cooking instead it would be 14.0 and, that is weird.
I think that decimals are better than fractions. Decimals are better because how would count out money. Like 1.00 2.00$. that is why decimals are better.
I think both of them are equally important.Fractions are good to use because they are good for cooking.Decimals are good because they are better for averages. Also they can be converted. They even meen the same thing but said differently.
I think decimals would be better because you can't do money with fractions. So if you did fractions how would you do money. Also how would you do grades. But with both you can do math. So some times it is good to use both.
I think that desamel and fractions are the same. Desamils have whole numbers, just like fractions. What desamils don't have are denominators and numerators. Fractons have lines between the numerator and the denominator. That is what I think about fractions and desimats.
I think they are both important. They can be converted. Fractions can be converted into decimals and decimals can be converted into fractions. They both are equivalent. That is why I think they are both important.
I say there are both impotant.I will say three more reasons why there are both impotant. You can say them differently but they are still eqivalent. If we didn't have fractions we couldn't cook or say I will like a half a pizza. If we didn't have decimals we couldn't say 99.9 percent it works or millaseconds.Thats why I say they are both impotant.

ReplyDeleteI think that fracations and decimals are both important. We would not be able to solve problems with out them in either form.
ReplyDeleteI think both are important to know about in life. Because like Cisco said we would not be able to solve problems them in either form. Also because
