Kindness is a small thing that can not be measured until it is given to you by someone else. It matters a lot in how you interact with each other and how you show kindness to others.
Last week we attended the Kindness Retreat. I thought that it was a wonderful day of throwing out kindness to others in our grade level. To follow up with the idea of using ICI (Interrupt, Compliment, Invite Away) if you see something happening that you don't think is appropriate.
Let's write a story. . . In your post write a story in which you help a classmate get away from the bully using ICI. Choose a setting: Perhaps you are out on the playground, in the lunchroom, or on the bus.
Remember, don't use any real names of students in our class or in 5th grade. Practicing these 3 steps to be a hero will help you do this in real life. Go for it!!!!!
susie was on the bus when she came across Billy. Billy then took her lunch money. Larry was watching but he didn't think he could do anything but he did. Larry came up and took the money away from Billy. Susie thanked Larry and they became friends. Remember if you are anywhere and you see someone getting bullyed don't just watch. You can do something about it. TAKE A STAND!!! HELP!!!

One day there was a boy named Shabobby in the lunchroom. He was just eating his lunch when James came over and said give me your chocolate bar. Justin was whatching his brother doing this to Shabobby and he went over and did something. He said to his brother what are you trying to do mom always packs use a chocolate bar. Well today mom put one in there but it was the wrong kind it was your discusting kind. Justin wasn't afended because his kind of chocolate bar was sometimes bad so what he did is he traded the one that he had for his brothers. Then he invited Shabobby over to sit with him.

One day a kid named Joey was getting on the bus. When a popular kid named Gordon tripped him when he was walking down the bus and then after he tripped him he farted right on top of his head and he said "why don't you just go sit with all those other losers in the back of the bus". Then a girl that was super popular said "why are you always so mean you sit in the back of the bus". All his friends agreed with her and said "your not a good friend". Everybody said "just go home you little loser". And then he was never mean again and not popular. Joey became popular.

One day on the playset there was a boy named Max. He loved the playset. But then one day he fell off and broke his arm. He was crying for help, bout no one came. Then, a boy named Marty hopped the fence, saw how badly he was hurt, told his mom, and then his mom took him to the ER. A couple months later, Marty fell down and then Max helped him up. After that, they were best friends after that, and played on the playset for hours every day.

I interrupted and said to Alek, "Stop or I will get a Duty Aide." Then I complimented my friend, "You are good at football, but lets go somewhere else." Alek ended up giving the ball back to us.

One day, on the swingset, a girl named Sasha was waiting for her turn. Just as she was getting on the swing, Lucy pushed Sasha off. Then Charlie came over and said, "Hey Sasha! We're throwing a frisbee around over in the field and you're really good at it so do you wanna come?". Sasha of course said yes and they played a great game of frisbee.

ReplyDeleteIf i saw someone getting bullying i would do the (ICI). The first thing i would do is distracting bob. Next i would give him a complement. Then i would ask then i would walk away and just play at the playground. Thats how you handle that sistuation. The last thing I would do is make them apoligize.

There was a young girl named Susy. She was going to kindergarten in the 3rd quarter of the year. She got to wear a brand new dress and pigtails. When she was walking through the halls to go to the bathroom she ran into a mean 2nd grader. the 2nd grader was making fun of Susy's pigtails and how they made her look like she was 2. A different kinder gardener walked out of the bathroom. Her name was Nicole. She softly INTERRUPTED and said, "I think your pigtails are cute. They make your hair look longer." Susy felt better after being COMPLIMENTED. Nicole asked if she wanted to go swing with her. Susy said yes and was INVITED AWAY.

There once was a kid named bobby and he didn't like pancakes. All of his friends didn't know that until he had a sleepover and he didn't want pancakes in the morning. Every day from that morning a kid made fun of him...a week later, it got too far. Some older kid walked up to him and pushed him down and other kids started laughing. Then, one of his friends came up and said "Hey bobby, I like how you play kickball! You can kick it soooo far! Come and join us bobby! Were going to go play some kickball!!" Casey was playing on the field one day when Ken came up to him. Ken pushed the ball out of Casey's hands and kicked it over the fence. Ken said, "You whimp you can't even throw a ball." While all this was going on Matt, a person just walking by, then changed paths and strolled up to Casey. Matt got between Casey and Ken, and told Casey, "Hey dude, you're really fast, I was wondering if you want to come play tag with us." So, Casey walked away with Matt and Ken was left confused about what just happened.

One sunny lunch Lilly Monroe was playing with her friends Merriwether and Kassey. They were having so much fun pretending to cats. Then Dennie came up saying "HA HA you are such a loser! Who would like him!" amd I'm like thinking What is he thinking about! Then Christapher came over and yelled at my face " Ugh I would never like so why bother likeing me!" Turns out one of his friends started a rumor about Lilly likeing him! The next day Lilly came to school and people were asking her " Is it true yu like him?" and she kept saying no but people kept saying " Wow that's dumb." Lily during lunch instead of playing with her friends sat dowm by a tree and began crying. Then suddenly Dennie came over and said " Ah are you crying because Chris rejected you." She was about to leave when he came over and she was surrounded. She started screaming but they came out as squeaks when Merriwether came over with Kassey and said " Hey Lilly want to go play tag? I know your so-o-o good at tag! Come on!" and Lilly slowly slipped away while they were staring at Merriwether in awe. And for the rest of lunch Lilly had fun playing tag. Since then Merriwether moved and Kassey made new friends. Lilly now had the nerve to stand up for herself.

One day Bill was being bullyed by Carmen. Carmen walked up to Bill at the bus stop and tripped him. She was like "Loser" haha "Bill is a loser Bill is a LOSER!" she chanted. Then Betsy walked up and said look at that bird. So Betsy walked and said "Bill you are very great!"she screamed. All the students walked on the bus. "Bill would you like to sit with me in the back?" she said. Then it was happily ever after, they became best friends.

Later that day on the bus, Louis, another school bully, came up to Cristy and said" That's MY seat" Cristy's countenance said that she didn't know what to do. Even though she stood up to Sammy, Louis was twice the size of Sammy.
Bob came up and told Louis," Cristy was there first and you never sit there, you sit in the back with your friends."
"Oh yeah," said Louis and then he went to sit down. Bob took a seat next to Cristy and then they played basketball everyday with eachother.

At lunch at DTS Bobby stole my lunch and didn't give it back but then Jacob distracted Bobby and his gang and I took my lunch back. Also we became friends and started hanging out and now we are best friends.

There once was a kid named Billy, he is in the fourth grade. He was always known as the kid in trouble. He was disrespectful to his teachers and most of all the other students. The only person that he was nice to and that he liked was the janitor. For some reason they always seemed to have a connection. He would even go out of his way to help him do what ever was needed around the school grounds. One day his attitude changed toward his teachers and the students. He came to school with a smile on his face and was happy to be at school, helping teachers, playing with other students and would do anything to help at school he was no longer the bully at school that he once was. He found that kindness to others was the best way to be. He ended up having a lot of good friends and teachers that loved him. Roy
