Thanksgiving :)

This is the time of the year when we gather with family and friends and spend time together. Next week we will be off for 5 days to spend time with family and friends.

Tell us about your family traditions during Thanksgiving and what makes it so special for you. What are you thankful for this year and what do you hope will be better in the future?

Responses should be well thought out and included at least 5 sentences. Please check for spelling and grammar before you post your comment.

  1. My Thanksgiving tradition is to spend time with my cousins. I have three of them! One's named Maya, who's the oldest, the second oldest who is my age is Jack but everyone calls him Louis because that's his middle name, and then the youngest who is only six is named Anais. There's supposed to be two dots over the I because her name is french. My family lives a little south of Phoenix. Sometimes, my aunt Sophie and my uncle Patrick will sometimes have people that they know over at their house and then introduce them to my family. I love having cousins to play with on holidays. My family spends time with them almost every holiday with them. In case you're wondering, my cousins are on my dad's side because my uncle is my dad's brother and my aunt is from France. I simply can't wait to go over to their house for Thanksgiving. I'm so grateful for family!

  4. My family traditions for Thanksgiving are meeting with my mom's side of the family. But this year we are doing it a little differently. My dad's side of the family, from Tuson, are coming to our house to celebrate this great day. This makes it special for me because I can relax with my family and cousins. I am thankful for my family, friends, and the wonderful food. For the future, I hope that the economy gets better by more jobs getting created for everyone.

    HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!!!:)

This Thanksgiving is special because, my dad's parents are coming in from Pennsylvania, and it does not happen very often because its quite far. I love Thanks Giving because, its lots of special time for my family. It seems as though this holiday always has that special warm and fuzzy feeling. It always gives us time to give thanks.

  10. Traditions that we do at Thanksgiving are that we invite my whole family to my house. Then we have a big feast. With turkey, mashed potatoes, and stuffing. I'm in it for the crescent rolls. I am thankful because we don't live in a place where there is many severe problems going on. No famines, no super-droughts, not even hosting a war. I'm thankful that that is not happening.

  11. My Thanksgiving traditions are just playing games and watching Christmas movies. We cook the turkey for most of the day, and we get exited smelling the aromas. Then we eat at 2:00. We might have a couple friend over, also. I am thankful for a house, food, and clothes. I am also thankful for friends and family.

  12. My family traditions for Thanksgiving are having my grandparents and my Aunt Shayne come over to my house for dinner. But before that I act like a couch potato and watch TV and Thanksgiving Day parade, which my mom makes me watch. After that I go on a bike ride with my mom, my dad and sometimes one of my friends. It is special because I get to spend time with my family and I get to eat my Nama’s apple pie! This year I am thankful for my parents, my dog, my grandparents, my relatives, my life, the shelter I volunteer at, my tarantula, food, water, animals, and llamas.

  14. Usually my family all gets together and has thanksgiving dinner. But this year the four of us are going to South Carolina just to spend time with each other. We're going to go to a fancy restaurant that, of course, serves turkey. I'm tankful that we get to go on a trip to somewhere we've never been. And I hope in the future that everyone will be able to celebrate (even hobos) thanksgiving.

I thankful that we could move here and that my dad could get a great promotion. I hope that we will have a great year and that we will have more family time together.

  18. Our family traditions include having a big Thanksgiving dinner with candied yams and a yummy pumpkin pie. We usually get up early and watch the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade. My dad watches football and I do too. These traditions make Thanksgiving special because we do them every year together as a family. I am thankful for my family and pets because I love them. I am thankful that my dad got his dream job and now he will be able to spend more time with us. I hope in the future people will take better care of the environment.

  25. As a family we don't do much on Thanksgiving but we have a good breakfast lunch and dinner, it's my excuse to pig out, with plentiful food. I'm super excited about this this holiday, # 1 it takes away school, lol, One year we went to California to visit my cousins but that's all I can remember. For all I know my family could have taken me to Paris or Italy or France. I love this holiday so much, again, a perfect excuse for pigging out. I don't know who doesn't celbrate this holiday and I know a lot, I mean A LOT!
