  1. If I had the choice I would choose Sargon. I would choose him because he established a great empire that included the whole of Mesopotamia and extended over Syria and Elam. The dynasty founded by Sargon lasted approximately 160 years but it was destroyed by the Gutian barbarians. He founded the last great Assyrian dynasty.Sargon was an emperor who ruled a vast empire which extended from Elam to the Mediterranean Sea, including parts of modern-day Iran and Syria.

  2. I would like to meet Gilgamesh. I think what made him a great ruler is that he was known as the greatest ruler ever.(But so does other kings say to, *wink*) In Mesopotamian mythology, Gilgamesh is a demigod of superhuman strength who built the city walls of Uruk to defend his people from external threats. Oh sure super human strength, so true. He also had the epic of Gilgamesh, the oldest book ever to not be destroyed over the years, with other uninteresting words in it. Over the centuries there was a gradual accretion of stories about him. Did I mention he ruled Uruk for what ever how long.

  3. I wouldd like to meet hammurabi because he was the first king of the Babylonian empire. Hammurabi was a great ruler because he made Hammurabi's code, witch was very important if you don't want to die. That is a way you can tell that he is orginized. Even though it was a while ago. One thing that I personaly liked about Hammurabi is that he wouldn't try to be too demanding, but he was strict. This is why I would like to meet Hammurabi. (It would be so cool if I could.)

  5. I would like to live with Hammurabi. I would like to live with Hammurabi because he had a lot of laws and I would like to TRY living with so many laws. I have always wondered how many laws were broken. If I lived back in that time, I would search for Hammurabi's code. I would take people with me of course. He made a good ruler because he was probably trying to keep us safe with all those laws. Or he was just trying to torcher us!:)

  6. I would like to meet Hammurabi because he was a just ruler. He made Hammurabi's Code, which I think was important because he was trying to be fair. Although I don't like how the punishment was based on your rank, I think that would be better than being with a warrior king. Hammurabi's Code helped people establish laws later on and that helped all of Mesopotamia. I also like how he was trying to be fair to all of his people and wanted to be remembered as a just ruler.

  7. I would want to met Hammurabi! I would want to meet him because he created the code of laws, over 200 laws! He was a great ruler because he ruled all of Mesopotamia. He was a great warrior. The down side I didn't lik about him was his punishments. They were way too harsh.

  8. I would like to meet Sargon. I would like to meet him because he rose from nobody to become King of Mesopotamia. I think it is so cool how he comes in and takes over cities and they accept him as their leader. He also established a great dynasty which lasted over 160 years which is amazing. He united Mesopotamia, which hadn't been done before. It would also be cool to meet him because he was the world's first great ruler.

  10. I would have been alive at the same time as Hammurabi's rule. I like his rule because mesopotamia was the strongest by the politics of Hammurabi. And he was the First Dynasty king of the Babylon, and is known for the Babylonian law.

  11. If I could meet one of the Mesopotamia rulers I would want to meet Hammurabi. I would want to meet him because he was one of the greatest rulers of Mesopotamia. I think what made him a good ruler was that he made the Code of Hammurabi which had over 200 laws! If the code didn't exist then people would probably just do whatever they wanted to do. This is why I would want to meet Hammurabi.

  14. If I had to live with a ruler it would be Hammurabi. I would chose him because he created a code with 282 laws in it. That would take a lot of time, paicents, and effort. I could never be that paient. If his code didn't exist then everyone would do a lot of things that we usually don't do now. (bad stuff) I would also like him because he is the leader in The Mesopotamians song.

  16. I think it would be really cool to meet Hammurabi.(That is, if he didn't throw me in a fire.) I would want to meet Hammurabi because he created the 282 laws. I think he was one of those people who has to have everything organized because of all of his rules.

  17. I think that all of the rulers in Mesopotamian were very cool, so I find it hard to pick just one. On the other hand, there are two that I find particularly interesting. One thing that I really enjoyed reading about Hammurabi was that he created the Hammurabi code. This was not really a code but a set of laws. Sargon picture in our book looks like he is an extremely strong person. I also enjoyed reading about his great warrior skills.

  18. I would like to meet Gilgamesh. What made him a great ruler was he prayed with his people and not just with himself. Sure he can probaly be mean to people. But it's still a great person. He also controlled Sumer. Witch is my favorite place. Last is his story was found in a Akkadian library in the 7th century

  20. I would like to meet Hammurabi. I would like to ask him how he came up with Hammurabi's code. Hammurabi's code is a set of 282 laws. His punishment system was an eye for an eye. I would also like to meet him to see how it felt to be a king. Did he have a lot of pressure or was it easy as a breeze? I would like to go into his town and see how people lived. It would be awesome to meet Hammurabi.

  21. I would like to meet Hammurabi. I would because I think his codes are cool. I would ask how he thought of them? Did he think of them all by himself? How does feel like to rule over everyone? These are some of the many questions I would ask him. I think its cool he had 282 laws! That's so many! I would love to see him in person!! ALEXIS :) ;) :D ;D :P ;P P.S

  22. I would like to meet Gilgamesh. What made him a great ruler was he prayed with his people and not just with himself. In Mesopotamian mythology, Gilgamesh is a demigod of superhuman strength. In all the stuff we've learned about Gilgamesh they said he was the toughest ,buffest and the biggest ruler of the Mesopotamian rulers. Gilgamesh is stronger and smarter then those wimpy kings anyway.

  23. I would meet Hammurabi, because he came up with Hammurabi's code. His code made him a great king. It must have been hard work coming up with 282 laws. He must have taken his job as king very seriously. It would be nice to know what it was like to be the first ruler of the Babylon empire.

  24. I would like to meet Gilgamesh. Because their is so much unknown about him. What did he do as a hobby? Did he build a palace? Where is it? We don't even know if he is real or not. Also, I would like to know more about Uruk's people. Gilgamesh is older than all of the other kings so we don't know much about them.

  25. Out of these kings I would pick... Gilgamesh. I would pick him because know one knew if was Gilgamesh a myth or real. and if I was around back then I could prove Gilgamesh real. The text book in class said Gilgamesh traveled far for the fountain of youth. And after that some ladies killed him. Which don't think really happened. That's what king I would pick.

  30. If I had to pick a ruler I would pick Sargon because Sargon was a powerful ruler and he was the first leader of an empire so he would have a bigger empire than the rest of the empires so our empire would destroy everything in their path's.
That is why I chose Sargon as the ruler I would like to meet.

  31. If I had to pick a ruler, I would be Gilgamesh. Why, because he has cool armor like we saw in the Mesopotamian video by they might be giants. Also, I would like to know how much rules he has. And if you broke the laws, what would be the punishment for breaking it. Also, I would like to see how he fighted, what were his tactics for battle, what weapons did he use, what was his favorite weapon, and what was his armor made of and how much it weighed.

  32. If I had to choose a ruler it would have to be Sargon. The reason why is because he is his empire is the biggest of them all. Second reason is because he does not have a bunch of laws. Third is because he is a great fighter and I would want to see his skills. This was a really hard choice to make because they are all mentioned in that song(guess what song it is). And that is all the reasons why I would choose Sargon as my leader.

  33. If I got to choose to meet one of the rulers, I would choose to meet Gilgamesh. I would choose to meet him because he is a very powerful leader. I would probably be a little scared when i was talking to him, but i would get over it. He can be really nice to people, but sometimes he can be mean to people. For example he wouldn't just pray with himself, he would pray with other people. I think it would be super fun to meet Gilgamesh!

  35. If I had to choose which Ruler that I wanted while I was alive I would choose Hammurabi. I would pick him because he had such a fair way of running things with the code of Hammurabi. The code of Hammurabi was a system of 282 laws all depicting the fate of the other people's in the city. I would also pick Hammurabi because his name is really cool and fun to say in a British accent. Hammurabi was the most fair ruler of all and that is why I would choose him because otherwise everyone would be getting away with horrible crimes or the small crimes would just be punishable by death instead of having a fair system like Hammurabi did. That is why I would choose Hammurabi as my ruler.
