Last Friday, you got to participate in several activities related to Constitution Day. Then on Tuesday, September 17th (Constitution Day) you go the chance to write part of the Preamble on your own paper.
What did you think about the process of making the paper and ink? Did you enjoy having to write on the paper? What is easy or difficult to do?
What do you think the people that wrote the Constitution experienced while writing a note, a letter to a friend or even a story?
Was it as easy for people to get a lot written back in the day of Benjamin Franklin and Thomas Jefferson?
Make sure that your answer is at least 6 sentences in length.

I did not like the process because squishing the berries felt weird, and it was super cold. It gave me the finger-freezes! Making the paper was a little better than making the ink. Writing on the paper was okay and not as hard as I thought it would be. It was kind of fun to use a chopstick instead of a pencil. The people who wrote the Constitution probably had to take more time, and if they made any mistakes they would have to restart. They did not have a delete button! It would have taken a while to write anything back then because they would have had to collect berries and not make any mistakes.

I think Constitution Day was very fun. I think it was fun because we got to do a lot of things. At first, I had a lot of fun making the ink and paper. I thought getting to write on the paper was going to be fun. Then I realized that it was very hard to write back in Jefferson's day because it was a slow process. I think that when somebody wanted to write something they had to do a lot of work just to write a little bit. I also liked that my part of the preamble was "Liberty to ourselves and our posterity". This means that you are free to do what you want in your life, and that your family does too.

The Constitution Day was very fun. It was hard to make a paper and there were holes on the paper. Squishing berries to make ink was weird. Writing on the paper wasn't very hard, but I have to dip into the ink every time I wrote a letter. I think the people who wrote Constitution was very smart, because they used a lot of words we don't use a lot. I think they don't get a lot written back, because back then people cannot get paper and ink easily.

Constitution Day was very fun. one of the things i thought was fun is making ink and paper. It was hard to write on the paper. The paper made it hard to write on. It must have been hard to writ because they had to dip and write and dip and write. So that would make it hard.It woulden't be easy bacause people had to dip and write then they had to walk and give the letter to Tomas Jefferson and Benjerman Franklin. That could take a day to do.

Making the paper was fun because the berries smelled so good! I think writing on our paper was easy because I used the ear pick. It was fun because it was first time I made paper!
ReplyDeleteI think they would have to make no mistakes because there was no white out. I think it would be as easy to write things in the time of Thomas Jefferson because they had a lot of paper. Making paper made me realize that you had to make a lot of ink if you wanted to write a lot of stuff.

It was pretty hard making the ink and the paper. For me it was easy to write on the paper because of what we used to write with. It took a lot of time for those who wrote the constitution because you had to make both the paper and the ink. I think not a lot of people wrote often because it took forever. Writing down the part of the preamble was interesting. Because the ink was light, we had to rewrite the same words three or five times which was very time consuming.

Constitution Day was so much fun.We made ink, paper and a drawing. We squashed berries in a filter and made berry ink. That was a lot of fun.Next we made paper. We blended up newspaper and we put it in a paper shaped bucket with water. We put it in a paper shaped bin and put it in between 2 paper towel and dried it with sponges. For drawing,we could draw anything it has't to be about freedom that we can do.Hope your Constitution Day was awesome like mine.

Constitution day was a blast. We got to make paper out of old paper blended up. That was fun. Next, we got to make our own ink by squishing berries. It was cool but also a breeze. The hard part about this project was that when we watched the video all of us couldn't here the video. The nice part was that Ms. Preston gave us a second chance and let us watch the video and get the answers again. So that is what I liked about this very special day.

I had a blast making paper and ink for Constitution Day! It was kind of weird squishing berries to make ink. I loved writing on the paper I made and it was very easy. I bet that the people who wrote the Constitution thought that it took forever to write the Constitution with ink. If I had to write the Constitution I would probably quit after seven words. It obviously was a lot harder to write back then.

I really liked making the paper and ink.I mostly liked making the ink,I liked the ink because It was really cold and It was fun to smash the berries.I liked writing with the ink because it felt a lot different than using a pencil.I think people who wrote books had the hardest job because books are sometimes really long.I don't think it was easy for anybody to use a feather and ink because after every word you wrote you would have to dip the feather back in the ink to write. It is a lot better now when we can use pens or pencils.
ReplyDeleteI really liked making ink and mushing berries.
ReplyDeleteI think that the people back then had it hard.
the most important think about constitution day is that it is when they signed the constitution.
my favorite part was writing part of the preamble.
my least favorite part was making paper.
that's what i liked and didn't like. bybybybybybybybyby

I really enjoyed getting to participate in the several activities related to Constitution Day. During the process of making the paper and ink I had such a great time. I really loved making the ink by squeezing the berries into juice. I did enjoy having to write on the paper. I found it difficult though to write with the ink. The reason I found this difficult was because having to dip the writing utensil in ink after every letter was a little exhausting. But over all I had a fantastic time. I really enjoyed participating in the several Constitution Day related activities and making paper and ink. I hope all the preamble papers end of looking awesome.

I had a great time on Constitution day! It was really fun mushing the berries to make ink. It was also fun making belly button lint paper. I enjoyed writing on the paper, but I found it sort of difficult using the ink. I think they had to have had a lot of patience to set all of their stuff up and to write with the ink.It was't easy to write a lot back then.

ReplyDeletecold and I got messy and i love to get messy.I never knew that the berries could make ink that good now i know is was that hard to draw on that paper and write with the ink. It was gold to draw on the paper because love doing new stuff like write with ink and homemade paper. The paper was hard to write on the paper but making the paper was really fun. That was the best Constitution day I hope i get to do it again.

I definitely enjoyed the Constitution Day activities that we did in class together!I am really mad that i missed out on a lot of fun making the paper and squashing the berries but nobody's perfect.I loved writing on hand made paper and using hand made ink,I enjoyed this activity a lot.To me it wasn't the easiest thing writing with my choice of the chopsticks but it was not hard either. I think that back then all of the people who had to write and dip their writing objects over and over again did not exactly have it easy. Now a days we just have to text, call,or even send an email not a lot of people write anymore! We also tried to find synonyms for a few words in the preamble this is not what I would call easy, it was very hard!I hope all that i have written helps you understand more about my feelings for what we did on Constitution Day! #8
ReplyDeleteFirst off, Happy Constitution Day, everyone! The process of making the ink and the paper was SO fun and easy! I loved making the ink because I loved to stick my fingers in the berries and squish them. The paper was also so easy. I just had to soak, and sponge! Writing on the paper was so extraordinary! I loved to write with the ink the class made and the chopstick! Overall, this was a GREAT Constitution Day! :)

I liked making the ink. I thought it was fun because we got our hands wet and kind of dirty. The ink was cold, so it felt good. The smell was minty fresh!!!! I have liked science a lot because we do hands on instead of writing out of the book and listening to a droning teacher. We have done 2 experiments and are doing a third!!#24
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed making the ink because it was fun to use the berries for something besides eating. The berries smelled like one of Costco's fresh berry smoothies. I liked the ways the berries feel when you squish them through the strainer. The process of making paper was pretty fun too. It was fun to stick our hands in the water and playing with the squishy pulp! I think it was cool that was how they made paper. I had a lot of fun!

I loved Constitution Day! I loved putting my hands in the cold shivering berries and mash them. The smell of the berries filled the room and smelt good. I think its cool learning about the preamble. I loved Constitution Day. I loved it so much I still have the school house rock song stuck in my head.

I enjoyed making the ink and paper because it was fun and messy.I think writing on the paper was easy and fun because i used a cotton swab.In my opinion the least favorite thing about ink was because that it was cold. The easiest thing to do was the paper making project.I'm not really sure how they would feel or guess how they feel when writing note! I don't even get the question is! I think it would be hard to write in those days because if you mess up you cant just erase it.You also have to dip your quill in an ink jar back and forth.

I enjoyed making the ink and paper because it was gross, messy, fun, and cold.I think the ink was the easiest because it was not that hard to squish berries.I think the paper was the hardest because we did not do much and it was hard to get the water out.I think it would be hard to write back then because there no erase or you also have to have ink or a quail. Those were some things I think was the easiest and hardiest. Also how I think it would be like to write back then. ReplyDeleteWhat made Friday fun was that we made ink the most fun part about making ink was because In got my hands dirty. My hands got so dirty I wanted to lick the berry's off my hands. Next we made paper it was gross. One of the reasons it made it gross was because it was pulpy.

My next thing We did was watch a movie it was the most boring. Then we did a drawing contest wich for sure I would lose because Im horrible.
DeleteI think the paper was good. It was not hard to write on it.It was fun to write on.I don't know how they write on it without making a mistake. if they did they would have to start over. I think it was hard for them.

DeleteFriday was great. The best thing was the ink.It was so cold.It was super cold.It stained my fingers bad.My shirt was stained to.It was great. It was super loud.

I really liked making the paper and ink.I liked the Ink better though.I liked It because the berries were cold and I liked to crush them.I'm glad I wasn't a president a long time ago.I think the presidents had a really hard time. This was the best project I've ever done.

The paper we made turned out very good and sturdy as well as the ink. I also liked watching the video, it was cool! Though my wrist did hurt a bit answering the questions. However I wish I didn't lose my group. So maybe next time pay more attention I guess. Anyway I thought it was very fun.
