Next week we will have Thanksgiving. We get a few days off of school each year, which is always nice. But on this day of the year what are some traditions that you and your family have?

My special traditions are making green bean casserole and turkey. We also make other foods. We have my mom mom and pop pop brown come. My family always watches football. My grandma always makes pies. Then we either go to the dining room table or outside. ( The boys watch TV outside and my grandpa and all the girls stay inside and eat ). ( I also love the green bean casserole). It's my favorite ). Every Thanksgiving My mom and sisters make brussels sprouts, green bean casserole, and many other food and always TURKEY!! We use to go to a relatives house but now they come to ours. This year I don't know who's coming though. After we eat we watch football. I'm pretty sure the Lions play every Thanksgiving.Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays because I get to eat a lot and watch football.
ReplyDeletewell, my family just have food , relatives over, but nothing special. Evrey year we swich off of who's house we a re going to. What my family eats in this time of year is turky,corn,pork,pie veggies and many more. My favorate is the pies and turkey. We don't watch any thing in genaral but befor thanks giving starts I watch youtube by my self. But I don't like it when my family asks me random questions about me.

I go to California and all of my family members are there.We watch the Thanks giving parade and go to the beach.All of the kids make name tags for every one in the family.My grandma bakes the turkey and every other Mom makes...pie,stuffing,corn,potatoes,gravy,cranberry stuff,green beans and more.we also make a thankful tree and leaves to write things we are thankful for ,then we tape the leaves on the tree.I love Thanksgiving.But not the 6 hour drive there.

For thanksgiving my family and I have a few things that we usually do. We usually go out to see a movie together before or after we have thanksgiving dinner. Sometimes we invite people over to eat with us, and sometimes people invite us over to eat with them. When we're making dinner everyone helps out. In it, we always have turkey, mash potatoes, stuffing, cranberry sauce, and ham. All of us go around the table saying what we're thankful for and then we eat. Thanksgiving is so much fun with my family and I just can't wait for Thanksgiving Day!

For Thanksgiving, we always host because my mom loves to cook and we like having people over. This year, we actually celebrated early and had good friends, Anya, Ethan and Sasha and their parents and a whole bunch of other people for dinner last night. We always make turkey, homemade mashed potatoes, stuffing, sweet potatoes, and cranberry relish. Every year we have family and friends come over mid-afternoon and we have appetizers and drinks. During this time we all go around and say what we are thankful for. When we sit down for dinner, we say a prayer and then eat! This year we added a new touch called the thankful tree. My mom cut branches and put them in a vase and every day we cut out paper leaves and wrote something we were thankful for on the leaf and added it to the tree. We invited anyone who came over during November to add a leaf too. Our tree started out blank, but now has lots of colorful leaves. I like our Thanksgiving traditions.

For thanksgiving one of my traditions is to have my grandma angrandpa over.We also have turkey. One of my favorite things we have is mashed potatoes and gravy. But my most favorite is the pie. We do games and we talk and have lots of fun. Thanksgiving is one of the best holidays. Emma Bright #5

We usually have a big plate for a lot food. i don't get a lot . My family in Kansas usually watches " Charlie brown". I really like Thanksgiving because it is a time to be thankful.

I am going to explain what I do on Thanksgiving most every year. On Thanksgiving my cousins come in from college and my whole family gets together at someones house.Most of the time it is my grandmas house but this Thanksgiving my whole family is going to my Aunt Gloria's house! On Thanksgiving we eat things like turkey, stuffing,potatoes, and a bunch more! Occasionally my four cousins, sisters, aunts, uncles, and other family members play Catch Phrase with a blue, white electronic circle player. It is a lot of fun and we also split up into teams. I love Thanksgiving because it is one of the few times a year I get to see my whole mom's side of the family besides others from out of town. I do not get to see my quadruplet cousins so this is also another time they come home! Our family does not have anything that we watch every year we mostly just talk, hangout, and entertain ourselves somehow. Sometimes we also go outside because in my aunt's house there is one tennis court. one basketball court, a workout room, a HUGE pool but sadly they emptied it, a really big grass space, a room by the tennis court, a lot of rocks, two hills one made of rock the other of grass,and across the way from the grass two small little room house type things! My two cousins and I also sometimes play a game like football or soccer on the grass with their dad! ReplyDeleteOn Thanksgiving, I usually go to my great grandma's house. This year, it is at our house. The people who come is my grandma and my great grandma and grandpa. My mom and grandmother usually work in the kitchen (Grandma does most work) making the turkey and stuffing. We buy a pumpkin pie and chocolate pie. We gather around the table and say prayer. During the cooking and eating, my family watches football. There's screaming and shouting at the game like the team can possibly hear their suggestions.

Every Thanksgiving my family goes to my Grandma's house for dinner. Everyone but my brother and me eats turkey, mashed potatoes and the usual Thanksgiving dinner. My brother and I eat pizza like they did in the movie Free Birds. Everyone but me watches the football games. I usually watch cartoons instead of the football game. ReplyDeleteFor Thanksgiving me and my family are going to my grandmas house. We will drive 14 hours in a car to Idaho and Utah. First we are going to my grandma Bowman's house for the celebration. We are going to stay there for 2 days and have lots and tons of fun. My grandma's house is huge and has a garden and a jungle jim to play on. When we are done we are going to my grandma and grandpa Gardens house for 1 day. I am going to play with my friends that live in Utah where my grandma and grandpa Gardner's house is. I am going to help with the horses that live there in my grandpa Garder's 3rd backyard. My grandpa has 3 backyards to play in and do gardening. My grandpa takes me to the park on a 4wheeler which is a lot of fun. I cant wait for all of it.

Every Thanksgiving my whole family brings a dish and we all eat at my Aunts house. Its very convenient because, half of my family members live in a town called "Tonto Basin' and they always eat at my Aunts house because, her house is bigger. But anyways, I usually watch a Charlie Brown Thanksgiving with my mom. I love Thanksgiving and I especially love the food. We always have a turkey and we cook it in a deep pit. I never go to anyone's house for Thanksgiving. We always stay at our house and sometimes invite family. We always have turkey and mashed potatoes. We always make sure that we buy a turkey the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. It is called Turkey Tuesday. Turkey Tuesday is at every Bashes.

DeleteMost Thanksgivings we see our friends the Toples and have dinner with them. Every year it's either at our house or at their house. This year it's at our house. My dad and I also see another family: the Olsons. We play flag football with them and their friends. Every year we are always celebrating Thanksgiving with someone, never by our selves.

During Thanksgiving, all of the family members come to our house. My mother's and father's side of the family come over. It's easier that way because we have a big table in our living room to fit all of us. My cousin Lily, my brother Caleb, and I watch Charlie Brown every Thanksgiving. The food we eat is turkey, stuffing, and a bunch of other food that I forgot because there is too much to name. For some reason we usually eat dinner around one or two o'clock.

When we trade off the dishes we normally eat are loaded mashed potatoaes and stuffed turkey. After that we usually watch football or some sort of sport. Then we eat pie and go home. While we are up there and go in swamps, hunt, and many other things like that. It takes 5 hours flight and 6 hours to go to the camp. Are family owns over 2000 akers of land. Thanksgiving, when Thanksgiving comes around I get really exited. One of the reasons I get exited is because you get to stay at home. Also you get to spend the whole entire day with your family!!!!!!!!! Another great thing about thanksgiving is the food. My mom always makes football food wile we watch football. This year she said she is going to make my favorite buffalo wings. She gets this really good famous sauce from this place near her college. She orders it every year, each bottle is like six bucks. Before we eat she puts home made chips salsa and guacamole. It's very good. Then she brings out the big guns the mane course. As we bring the chicken wings because she makes two types, stake mashed potatoes, smashed potatoes, corn casserole, prime rib, brownies,french fries, cake home made of course, and last of all chile. After that we play video games, the video games we play are always family freindly like little big planet. After video games we go out side to play football and I try to attempt to teach my sisters but it's never gonna happen but one sister can catch and throw but not very well. After the we go back inside and get diserving sleep. #1
