Veterans Day is an official United States holiday that honors people who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces, also known as veterans.
Next week we will have two days off of school for this holiday. Why do you think that it is important to celebrate our Veterans? Do you personally know any Veterans? Why are they important to you and your family?
Make sure your answer is at least 6 sentence in length and that you explain your answer thoroughly.
I think it is important to celebrate veterans day because the veterans used to fight for us everyday and they are true hero's that deserve to be honored. My Grandpa Ed was a veteran for the Korean war. Veterans are important to my family because they are role models and they protected us. They also are hero's if the army was not there for all of the wars some of us would not be here today. I believe being in the army and navy is the closest to being a super hero. They put there life at risk every day for us. #16

Next week will be veterans day veterans and they are the reason you are standing and are free right know. Veterans are important part of the history in America. Veterans are people who have retired from protecting the Country. Many veterans have died in Wars but all are still remembered. They are one of the most important things in are country. That is why veterans are important.

DeleteI think it is important to celebrate veterans day. I think it is important because they fought for the US and helped us. I do know some veterans. My Zadie is a veteran. My Rabbi is also a veteran. Rabbi Koppell wast the first female Chaplin in the US army. My mom also has a friend named Dez, she was also in the army. Most people do not realize what the veterans do for us. They had to fight for our freedom. If they did not we might have to wear gas masks in case of bombs. Or we might have to build bomb shelters. There might even be soldiers on the corners with guns, just like it is in Israel. That would be scary. if our country was not free, it would be hard to do things. Or hard to go places because we would not be free so there would be a war. If we were not free we might be required to be in the army. And maybe have to risk our lives. but thanks to the veterans we are living in a free country. We can go to fun places. We can do fun things. And we can enjoy our lives. Without worrying about wars in the US. Courtney
ReplyDeleteI think we have to celebrate Veterans Day because they fought for us everyday! We just can't ignore it or else a lot of people are going to die! And we have to thank them because they fought and were brave. They helped us but if they didn't help us we need bomb and built a lot of safe places and a bomb shelter! It's a good thing that they saved and fought for us! Right now we don't have wars so thanks to the veterans who was amazingly brave!

I think that it is important to celebrate the Veterans because they were people that honored the United States Forces and the Forces are what keep everyone safe where they are. If I had to talk about anyone that might be a veteran, I, to tell the truth, do not know any other veterans so I really don’t positively know how they act, talk, walk, or any other things that they might do. I think that Veterans Day is important to my family and I is that they served and honor our country and that means that all the Veterans deserve respect back just like they gave to every single one of all the people on this Earth. That is why I think that is all I have to say for this blog of HONORING ALL WHO SERVED VETERANS!!! Also I wonder if the Veterans still live on Earth today or the Veterans are not here on Earth and they don’t exist anymore. I am not sure!!

ReplyDeleteI think we should always celebrate Veterans day because they protect our country and keep us free from enemies. I also think It is important for us to celebrate Veterans day because our fallen hero's have served us now we need to serve them. Also my grandpa was in the Air Force. Also my great great great great great grandpa died in the civil war. It is awesome to celebrate any holiday involving our troops and fallen troops.

It is important to celebrate our Veteran's because they served our country. These veteran's represent the people who made it out of battle and those who died in battle. These honorable people fought to protect us. My grandfather was a Navy Seal and served in the Korean War. I am thankful for having someone in my family to serve and protect the lives of others. I know my grandfather cares about a lot of others peoples lives in order to risk his life. I am grateful for these wonderful people who risked their lives to save ours.

It is important to fight for the Veterans because they fought in war for us. If they did not fight, we would not get days off. Most army people were pretty young, when they went in war, so they died young too most of the time. I think we should not only honor the people who fight in the war, but also doctors and nurses too. They are just as important as the people who actually fight in the war! I know three people who have fought in the war. My great uncle, and my 2 great grandpas. They all fought in World War ll. ReplyDeleteI think all people should appreciate Veterans day and respect this day because these veterans that come home on these day risk their lives and served our country. Plus if this day wasn't celebrated these people who risk their lives and serve our country wouldn't get to get a brake and see their families. I do personally know a veteran and I only get to see him only once every 2 years. He is my uncle and I respect that he has served our country. I think everyone else should respect all veterans that serve our country. Veterans day should be respected and appreciated by all people. #15

ReplyDeleteI think it is important to celebrate veterans because they risked their lives and it would be rude to just forget about them and not celebrate. We also get to have days off and that is always fun so we get a longer weekend. Lots of people have party's and they have hotdogs and hamburgers and a lot of food. My great grandpa was not in the veterans war but he was in world war two but that's different and my grandpa was a reserve so when they needed him they would call him in. The people in the veteran war made a sacrifice. That is why veterans are important.

I think veterans are important to our country because without them, America would not be protected during wars. It is important to celebrate veterans, because it takes a lot of courage to join the armed forces. They also have a very dangerous job. Veterans are important to me because they help take care of me, my family, and other U.S. citizens by keeping us safe and making sure no wars happen in America. Because of all the hard work they do, veterans deserve TWO days to celebrate them. That is why Veterans are important to our country.

I think it is important to celebrate veterans because they were special and helped the u.s. It would be rude to forget about them because they were important and nice to help us. It would be wrong to not give charity food for the food drive. I would be a veterinarian if I was born earlier so I could sacrifice myself to help the U.S. My life and your life would be better if we support them. No, I don't know any veterans in my family so far. They are important to me because they fought for our country for freedom and more. I think that veterans are important to honor because of the sacrifice they have made for our freedom that our country has. Yes, I do have a veteran in my family my uncle Sean he is a pretty awesome veteran. Sean used to be in the navy and work on helicopter for the navy too. Yes, he is important in our family I honor him every time I see him. He has a family of 3 children is takes well good care of them. Probably because he was taking good care of the country. I think that it is important to celebrate them because they have served our country and helped us to keep our country safe. ReplyDeleteI think that it is important to celebrate Veterans Day, by honoring the heroes of this country. They volunteered to fight for our country. I know a couple of people that are Veterans. One of them, fought in the Korean War. So, on Veterans Day I remember to say thank you to Stan as he shares some really cool stories. I hope you remember to say thank you a Veteran next week! AA1

Veterans Day celebrates the service of all U.S. military Veterans while memorial day is day of remembering men and women who died while serving. I don't know personally any Veterans but I am proud of the about them because they secure our life from enemies. Without them life would be miserable. Soldiers risk there life to save our life. ReplyDeleteVeterans day is important because we are honering are fallen of are country. One of the reasons its important is because some of us would not be here if there where no veterans. A veteran is a person who has retiered from the army. We salute them because they gave there lives to save us so when they come back treat them with respet. That is why veterans are important.
