Events Leading to the Revolutionary War

Which event that we have discussed do you think had the most impact leading to the Revolutionary War? (Stamp Act, Sons of Liberty, Daughters of Liberty, Boston Tea Part, Boston Massacre, Committees of Correspondence, etc.)

Why do you think that event had such a big impact on the Revolutionary War?

  1. I think the Boston Massacre had the most impact leading to the Revolutionary War. Americans threw snowballs and icicles at the British Soldiers. The soldiers got scared and shot and killed the colonists. The soldiers did not get punished for this. I think this had a big impact because the colonists got so angry that the soldiers were not punished. This action led to the Committees of Correspondence. This is why I think the Boston Massacre had a big impact. #11

  2. I think the Stamp Act had the most impact. I think that because the colonists were mad about the tax and They wanted to start a war against the British. Also the Brits were mad because the colonists weren't paying tax and the colonists protested against the Brits. The colonists didn't do what the Brits wanted and they kept trying to tax until they both got frustrated and wanted to start a war. I think the Brits shouldn't of kept trying to get money after the colonists refused to pay in the stamp act. The stamp act started it all so that is why I think it lead to the Revolutionary War.

  3. I think that the Stamp Act had the most impact leading to the Revolutionary War. The Stamp Act because the British put all of those taxes on playing cards, legal documents, letters, and newspapers. Nobody wants to be taxed on those. The colonists were taxed on a lot. The colonists probably got really angry and at that point they had had enough. That is exactly why the Revolutionary War started.

  4. I think the event that had the most momentum in starting the revolution was the intolerable acts. I think so because it made them ANGRY! They were ANGRY because they were helpless. They were ANGRY because they couldn't fight back. They were ANGRY because they were forced to feed and give room to the british soldiers. If the intolerable acts never happened the french and indian war would be the one that made the revolution happen.

  5. I think the most important event that happened to start the Revolutionary war was the Committees of Correspondence. They helped everyone from doing something about the tax like forming the Sons of Liberty and the Daughters of Liberty. To making it easier to get news. I think that the Sons and Daughters of Liberty did a great job, but they were part of the Committees of Correspondence. They also decided to meet in a year to stop those taxes! I think that the Committees of Correspondence did a great job with what they were trying to do.

  6. I think the event that had the most impact was the tea act. I think so because you could only buy from the east Indian tea company. That made the colonists got mad because of that so their pay back was sneaking on the ship and dumping the tea into the Boston harbor. That made Boston mad. They protested but they got punished. That is my answer.#30

  7. I say that the stamp act was the most important. I only say that because the most part of the revolutionary war was that the Britain taxed everything that had paper or at least a lot of paper. The Colonists can fight with the minute men. Not many regular people that are patriots want to risk their life. The minute men were always ready to fire. So that is why I think the Stamp act effected to start the Revolutionary War.

  8. I think the stamp act is the one of the main thing that lead us to the American Revolutionary war because the British thought that because they helped us that we should help pay for the stuff the British used in war. The British taxed many paper products like newspaper, playing cards, and legal documents.I think the stamp act is mean. I also think that the townsend act was a problem because it taxed all imported goods like tea, wool, and cloth. I also othink this act of taxing is mean. So this is why I think the taxing acts were the start of the Revolutionary war.

  9. I think the stamp act had the most impact on the Revolutionary War because this event caused the chain of events which lead to the war. I also believe if it weren't for the stamp act the revolutionary war wouldn't have even happened. I believe that this event is the most important. I even believe that the stamp act is the event that caused all this all this hate and anger to build up inside of the colonists making them protest and fight. Even though they didn't realize there was a better way to solve the problem. That's the event I think had the most impact on the revolutionary war. #13 Nate

  10. I think that the Daughters of Liberty helped the most. I think that because they helped with so many thing s that are so important. They helped by grabbing the tea ingredients so they can make their own tea. They also made cloth for cleaning stuff or using the cloth for something important. They also made wool so they can make clothing to be warm and snug. I think that the Daughters of Liberty did a wonderful job helping people live.

I think that the Daughters and sons of Liberty had the most impact. They made up the stamp act which made the colonists mad. Also the British protected the colonists when they did not have to.I also thing that the Daughters and Sons of Liberty helped start the American Revolution too. They stopped the British from coming and they made tea ect..I think that these groups lead to the A.R the most.

  13. I think all of these events had a huge impact on the Revolutionary War. But, one in particular stands out. This is the Stamp act because it was the first big event that happened besides the French and Indian war. It placed taxes on all printed goods. It made the colonists pretty mad. this is why I think the stamp act had a huge impact on the Revolutionary war.

  14. If I had to pick one BIG topic that led to the Revolutionary War would probrably be The French and Indian War. I picked The French and Indian War because without that war starting none of this would have happened! Also, The French and Indian War was the first one to begin with. Then they also had to make a big fuss about everything so I would go with The French and Indian War. The Colonist didn't even think about The French and Indian War and how they were mad how this whole thing went down, they just thought about right now. So if The French and Indian War did NOT happen niether would the Sons of Liberty or the Daughters of Liberty\ OR THE STAMP ACT. So that's what I think what about you?

  15. I think the taxing started it all because the brits were taxing the colonists just for fun because the brits thought they were better than the colonists. Also I think the boston massacre started the war because colonists probaly lost relatives.I think the brits are soooo MEAN. micah 21

  16. I think that the event that led up to Revolution the most was Stamp Act. Without the Stamp Act none of this would have happened. The Stamp Act got the colonists mad in the first place so it led to a chain of events. The colonists scared the tax collectors so then the British got angry that they were doing so. When eventually the British soldiers came it just made everyone even more angry. So, this is why I believe that the Stamp Act was most important.

  17. I think that the even that mostly lead to the American Revolution was The French and Indian War because the British used up all their money on the war so they taxed the colonists! The colonists were angry because it was not their idea to spend the money. The colonists also never asked for help. The colonist could have been reasonable payed maybe half of it but not all of it! If the war never happened then nothing after would have happened either leading to the Revolution. That is why I think the French and Indian War was the event that mostly lead to the French and Indian War! #8

  18. I think it was the Boston tea party .That event is when the colonists dump tea in the Boston harbor. They did that because they thought the taxes they were paying were bad. That lead to the British sending soldiers to destroy their weapons. Which is how the revolutionary war began. That's what I think. <3 Harmony #28

  19. I believe that the Stamp Act had the biggest impact leading to the Revolutionary War. The Stamp Act made the biggest impact because this it one of the main things that the colonists were angry about. They were angry about getting taxed. The entire reason the Stamp Act was made was to tax the colonists on any printed paper such as legal documents, playing cards, letters and newspapers. Colonists were definitely not pleased with the new tax requirements which led them to cause a rebellion against the British. The Stamp Act is one of the things that the British did that irritated the colonists. Therefore it had a notable impact on events leading up to the Revolutionary War.

  20. I would have to say that the Boston massacre had a big part of the revolutionary war. It had a big impact because Britain had killed some of or man. That mad us very mad. The people who got killed could not deafend there selfs. But the people in Boston still had to feed them and home them. I really think this lead to part of the revolutionary war. Emma Bright #5

  21. The stamp act.It is the most important piece to lead up to the revolutionary war.The stamp act is what started to make the colonist's mad. They taxed things they needed. They taxed all of the papers like documents, legal documents, etc.
That is why the stamp act made it lead up to the revolutionary war.

  22. I think the stamp act best impacted the Revolutionary War. The stamp act made the best impact because that made the colonists got really P.O.ED because they took alot of there stuff that they used almost every day. Such as letters, stamps, newspaper, and regular paper. So that got them really mad but if I were to say another thing I would probably say the Boston Massacure. As my second choiice I pick the Boston Massicure because that go the Bristish really mad because they didn't really even start it they just panicked and killed five people. " A massacure is a killing of pople that can't deffend themselfs"

  23. I think the Boston Massacre was the main event because it killed a lot of defenseless people. The colonists were really mad so they started throwing rocks and icicles at the red coats. Then nobody knows who did it, but someone on the red coats shot their gun and killed about two people. Then that started the Boston Massacre. A massacre is the killing of innocent people who can't defend themselves. That is what I think the main event was.

  24. I think the stamp act mostly lead to the American revolution. This act taxed printed items. It happened because the king was being greedy. I think a lot of people would agree with me. Then the Sons of Liberty stopped it which made more tax acts. That is what I think had the most impact.

  25. I think the stamp act played a big part about this war because it made colinests fereus . It made them mad by having to pay extra money for a lot of paper products like playing cards, legal documents, news paper and more! The patriots were also mad because they didn't agree to it!they couldn't stand the British but they had to live with it for 12 years!! Some people protested about it and they were called the sons of liberty but that's a different story! And that's my opinion on this article.

  26. I think that the intolorable acts lead to the revolotionary war. I thought that the british made them really angry because they took over massacheusetts. They started trying to steal their tool. Then the colinists were mad because they had to help british soilders. they were really mad. I think that lead to the revolotionary war most.

  27. I think that the Boston tea party lead to the Revolutionary war. I thought that the British got mad because the colonist dress up like the Idain. Also that the colonist dump the tea into the Boston Harbor. Then the British got mad and grave there axes. then the British got even mad. Thats how it lead to the revolutionary war

  28. my Favorite event leading to the revolution war was Boston massacre.
on Boston massacre 5 people were killed by a few British soilders.
the british got scared and they were about to be gilty but the were not gilty for the

  29. I think the Boston tea party was the biggest event. Well, it started off when the sons of liberty dressed up as Mohawk Indians. They got on the British ship and dumped all the tea in the Boston harbor. It took a while for the tea to get out out of the harbor. The British got really mad and punished them. That's what I thought what was the biggest event in the war.

  30. I think the Boston tea party lead to the revolution war. First they already made British mad and when they dump the tea the British is really mad! The colonies people dress like Indians that made the British even more mad. So the British said they have to pay for all the tea they dumped. That made the colonies mad. At last they fight!

  31. In my opinion I think that the Boston tea party had the most impact also. And my reason for that is because, the colonists where really mad so they dumped the tea. It was a big event in the american revelution. That just lead them closer and closer to war. The british got super mad at the colonists so they eventually had a war. So that is why I think that the boston tea party had the most impact on the american revalution. #22 shelbi
